Winter Adventures

Today we headed down the hill into our fine town of Franklin’s new winter market. There was a great turn out for a sleepy country town, and quite a good range of stalls. Old bottles & home grown Kiwi fruit, fresh yoghurt, woodfired bread, a coffee machine! some beautiful paintings, an abundant fresh organic veggie stall and my favorite find in a little room tucked away selling duck egg sponge & cream cupcakes! I have bought some duck eggs home to start work on a pasta dish that I am working on for an exciting event we are creating inspired by the stunning Huon River.

This is how I want it to turn out - will post again in a couple of days with results!

Fine duck egg pasta sheets, folded around a rich though thin tomato & red wine sauce over twice cooked shredded duck meat, finished with a tiny dash of double cream and loads of fresh parsley…or chervil.. I will let you know.

Pizzelle at MoMa this weekend were a hit! We will be back next week at both Addison Road Markets and MoMa next weekend. The Summer is coming to a close, and we will be having our last two weeks at Marrickville this week and the next. We will have a week off from MoMa not this weekend but the next, so make sure you come and enjoy the markets while they are still on! We will have our beautiful Blueberry Limonate again, along with our 100% blueberry popsicles.
Exciting things happening in Autumn this year, so keep your eyes out for news!

Spring in the Blue Mountains!

Spring - the garden is bursting with life, with beautiful orchids and blossoms just finishing their show - and the red bottle brush and sweet peas flowering spectacularly. Inspiring little herbs, lemons and blossoming fruit trees have had us busy in the kitchens making new and delicious produce to share with you at the markets and in stores. Parissi Pasta Sauce ~ Spring is out now, our new fruit and nut full Gluten Free Raw Muesli has also arrived, and if you were lucky enough to attend the Red Tent Dreaming event in October you would have had the opportunity to try our Lemon and Vanilla Bean Brulee Tarts.

We sit out on the front verandah in the mornings with our coffee and our kitty cats, talking to our resident pair of magpies. Asher is working on a body of line drawings, so while I potter about the front garden checking the progress of the apricots and cumquats, he captures beautiful gestures and movements with his charcoal and pencil.

I recently booked my tickets back to Tasmania for summer - we will be attending the MoMa markets from December to March, and also running our family’s Blueberry Farm again, so a busy and beautiful season coming up.

Nina, my sister, will be continuing an offshoot of PanTree Produce at Marrickville’s Addison Road Organic Food Market over the summer. We are calling it “PanTree Produce presents: The Muesli Bar”, and we will be focusing on our delicious range of muesli and granolli to eat at the markets and to take home too.

With summer just around the corner, you will have to keep your eyes on our blog and ‘LIKE’ us on FaceBook to keep up with all of the season’s exciting action! Tasmanians watch out - exciting new baked goodies coming your way, as well as the blueberry season and a preserving party with my friend that will be a dream come true.

We will be back at   Addison Road Markets   this weekend with loads of Muesli, sauces and NEW Apple Town brown sugar marmalade and whiskey marmalade too. Heaps of fresh home grown herbs and lemons too, and delicious lemon curd brule tart!       Breakfast bowls are back on the menue too, so skip down to Marrickville for a tasty bowl of muesli with local strawberries and Jersey Yoghurt.

I just went down to Tas for a quick trip, visited all of our lovely stockists, friends and family. We have decided to stay on until Summer, as our markets have been going very well in Sydney, and we would like to make the most of our wonderful new markets and customers! Very much looking forward to the beautiful Blueberry season in the stunning Huon Valley, and getting back to our favorite Hobart markets!

Sydney and the Blue Mountains, what a delightful winter adventure this is! The Blue Mountains has been stunning, with its quiet and crisp mornings. The views here are grand, misty and majestic. Much like in Tasmania, my days are filled with stoking the fire, sipping hot tea and cooking into the night. My Papa has a beautiful veggie garden that I have been preparing for some winter crops, and the chooks have started laying again.
On the weekends we travel down to Sydney, head off to Marrickville’s Addison Road Organic Food Markets.  The people are very lovely, and very hungry! We are able to sell our delicious Baked Ricotta Cheesecake to happy customers!
Over the next couple of weeks we will feature another Tasmanian Producer at our stall, so keep an eye out on this blog and on our facebook page for updates. First up Miellerie , whose amazing leatherwood honey will be available at the Addison Road Organic Food Markets this weekend.
