Learn how to bake your own delicious sourdough bread! This very popular, hands-on workshop sold out well in advance last time, so please reserve your place early to avoid disappointment!

Participants will learn the entire process of making sourdough bread, from the starter to the baking. Over the course of the day there will be hands on opportunities to get to know the feel of the flour, water and salt at different stages of the process as we will be making and baking loaves from start to finish.

Nick Grilanc is a creative chef who’s passion for sustainable living can be tasted in his delicious cooking, where providence is key and flavours come naturally from the garden. After having worked in restaurants he took his talent on the road. His mobile tiny home is fit with a kitchen that has cooked all over the country in all sorts of magical places, learning from and sharing the food cultures of the areas he has visited, finally coming back with all of that experience to share with us here at Lyttleton Stores!

$120 includes all ingredients, equipment, tuition and a take home starter and cane bread baskets. Organic flour and celtic sea salt are available to purchase in the adjacent shop to get you started at home. Please bring a clear, lidded plastic or glass container of minimum 4 litre capacity. Please BYO lunch or purchase treats in store.

Lyttleton is now offering one volunteer position per workshop. If you are interested in volunteering for a workshop you will need to come in for a volunteer induction. Workshop volunteers must be members and they will receive a 20% discount for one week if they volunteer for a half day workshop (4 hours) and for 2 weeks if they volunteer for a full day workshop. They will also get to learn new skills and help the tutor during the workshop. If you are interested in volunteering please contact 2-6 weeks prior to the workshop commencement date.

Please note that workshops are non-refundable, however, if you give us 48 hours notice of cancellation we will give you a workshop credit to apply to a different workshop.
