Despair and Hope in The Face of The Climate Emergency

0.00

Sunday evenings starting May 26th,
6pm-8pm (optional potluck- if you would like to bring food to share please do so)

Hope grows hope. In preparing ourselves and community for the climate emergency we must step into ´the monster´ support each other through the temperature changes ad rising sea levels. In the face of despair and grief what exists is love. Hope is a way of growing love instead of hate (fear). Come and join us to share despair and find hope in moving forward and building resilient and robust communities driven by love for the earth, each other and ourselves.

Sunday evenings at Lyttleton Stores we are creating a safe space to speak about the climate emergency and ways to support each other in truly acknowledging the feelings that arise in response to a rapidly changing climate.

Collectively, we will look at research on the climate crisis including the IPCC Report and other material (please bring anything you like along). With the support of each other and academic and learning facilitator, Cesidio Parissi (who has a wealth of knowledge in the field), we will engage with climate research and explain some of the difficult terminology, making it more accessible to those who find it hard to engage with. This is a non-hierarchal group and our hope is to share facilitation within the group. The intention is to discuss the reality of a rapidly changing climate so that we can better prepare ourselves to adapt to the changes ahead.

Please let us know if you are intending on coming (contact ruby: ruby.ann.thorburn@gmail.com).
