Join the lovely Pip Bishop, local printmaker, in an abstract linocutting workshop creating your own wrapping paper and cards, inspired from the Lyttleton Garden.  This workshop will focus on creating lively, abstract images and patterns, inspired by the gardens of the Lyttleton Stores.  This workshop will introduce participants to the art of carving lino to make a print. You will work on designs for cards or paper. This course is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate level participants with no prior experience required.


What to expect

Students will learn the technique of Lino carving and printing and spend time developing a design to carve into lino. Following morning tea students will learn how to print their designs in oil and water based inks.


About the tutor

Pip is a local printmaker and painter. She uses art and colour to express the intangible and ambiguities of life and loves being hands on and messy!  She tend towards organic forms and abstract lines and is inspired by the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains. She is an exceptional artist and an experienced teacher.


Course includes

The course includes lino, printing ink and paper or cards, tools will be available to borrow or purchase.

 

Participant’s are invited to share lunch (Please feel welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase an organic hamper for $20 to enjoy in the Lyttleton Gardens after your workshop! ) following the workshop while deigns dry.

 

Please bring an apron.

$95 includes all tuition, materials and refreshments.
