You may have heard that borage flowers are delicious in salads and desserts, but did you know the leaves make a delicious cooked green? Borage is a Mediterranean plant and my Italian Nonna used to make beautiful frittatas and risottos with its leaves. It is a very nutritious, mineral-rich alternative to spinach. Here at Lyttleton Gardens, our borage is blooming and the bees are loving it as much as we are (I even managed to catch one in flight on my photo!) If you come and visit us at Pantree, ask us for some borage, and we will cut some fresh for you from the garden.
